Dear friends,

It has been an eventful year for Chumz and we wish to communicate our heartfelt thanks for your support in the past year. The Chumz team recognizes that it would have all been impossible without your loyal generosity. We are proud to present you what Chumz has accomplished in its first year of existence:

Chumz in the year 2004-2005:

• We have established partnership with Cathedral High School and La Salle Academy
• We now have 40 teen mentors and mentees under the Chumz Program
• We have developed a core curriculum and are open-minded to specializing all-year after-school programs with interested high schools
• We have set up 3 special programs under Chumz encompassing the participation of teenagers ages 13-21 : ChumzVoice online newsletter distributed worldwide;Chumz TV: In da City TV reality/documentary show;Gifted Chumz a free art program for teenagers that reaches out to the inner-city community
• We are now set up online to receive all mentor-mentee applications through our chumz.net website
• We have also set up a dedicated group of volunteers who are committed to our Chumz programs
• We have set up an online chat program that encourages correspondences within mentors and mentees

Action Plan for the year 2005-2006:

• We will be focusing on our fundraising campaigns nationwide and worldwide
• We hope to hire an executive team for Chumz since our work is extending beyond our in-kind contributions
• We hope to publish the teenagers’ articles now published online to a hard-copy publication in recognition of their efforts and high standards
• We hope to increase the number of high school participants to 5
• We hope to strengthen our core curriculum in the selection of mentors and mentees
